the correct command for launching the IDE is:
$ ubuntu-sdk-ide
instead of
$ ubuntu-sdk

As far as I know (at least, that's what I've been told when the *-ide package appeared) the "ubuntu-sdk" will keep working and should be the default.
I'll ask someone from the SDK team for confirmation.
