Clicking on 'next track' button does not always play next track

Clicking on the 'next track' button does not always play the next track. Instead, it shows the next track's information, but continues playing the current track. The track progress bar continues to show the progress of the current track. This seems to be sporadic, as subsequent clicks on the aforementioned button usually moves the track forward again.
