Binary package hint: xracer

This is similar, but not identical, to this breezy bug:

Error:
xracer:main.c:528: error: open: No such file or directory
xracer:video.c:72: error: open: video/intro.mpeg: No such file or directory
xracer:jpeg.c:92: error: powerups/cannon.jpg: No such file or directory
xracer:texture.c:66: error: error loading texture file: powerups/cannon.jpg: No such file or directory

How to reproduce:
$ sudo apt-get install xracer [enter]
$ xracer [enter]

Additional info:
According to "dpkg -L xracer" the files are not included in the package.

Looks identical to a Debian bug, so confirming it.

But that bug has been sitting around upstream since 2002, the package has been orphaned, and the URL of the upstream version is broken. I don't see much chance of getting this fixed, unless somebody around here wants to take on the job of maintaining xracer.

Xracer remains broken. I tried to run it and I've experienced the same problems that are reported.

More to the point, it seems that this report is a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xracer/+bug/5604
