DC++ badly needs a SIMPLE UI

The current UI is quite new and there was a lot of effort invested in it , I don't know how soon it will change. That's mostly up to poy and arne

For me as a DC++ only user eMule looks rather confusing, imo its only a matter of what you are used to.

But why would you need 4 windows for up and downloads (plus one for connections)? It's very confusing that I need to switch windows when my download finishes. Just one transfers window would rule them all.

Also, this new UI could be implemented as an alternative to the current UI. It doesn't need to replace it completely.

Bigger icons like theese would be neat :)

The actual suggestion is to merge the connection, download and upload windows. This way I can view all my transfers in one window.

The eMule window in the screenshot above gives a very good example of what this could look like.

generally, letting the user re-organize tabs across different tab holders would be interesting... though we would need an "uploads" tab in the first place (bug 205575).

the way eMule does it is different, there's no constant transfer list on the bottom, rather it's a separate tab. in DC++ there are other things one wants to look at more than just transfers, namely, chat windows. having to constantly switch between chat windows and the separate transfers window would be annoying.

I didn't even know there was a Downloads window - that is indeed great.
An Uploads window would indeed be a nice improvement.

Let me amend my suggestion:

Would it be possible for the Downloads window to also show the Download Queue and Finished Downloads (so not just active downloads). This way I could view and manage all my downloads in one window.

Then if you would implement the same thing for Uploads, it would already be a huge improvement from my perspective (one window for all downloads and one for all uploads).

There are:
 - Connections tab -> Current downloads+uploads
 - Finished Downloads "window" tab -> Current session downloads. You can automatically show this tab at DC++ start.
 - Finished Uploads "window" tab -> Current session uploads. You can automatically show this tab at DC++ start.

The only thing i miss is the Uploads tab and the Downloads+Uploads tab, which would be the one i'd use (though i'm very used to Connections tab now).

But WHY would you need so many windows to view your transfers? I think the connections window is very annoying, especially with segmented downloading as the progressbar is completely useless now. Just one Transfers window to rule them all and only 1 line per download or upload. Just imagine the simplicity and how easy it will be to view all your transfers at once!

There is obviously one group that likes the interface and another group that finds it absurd and dump..

The group that likes the interface are stubborn, there probably not going to do anything about it..
The group that does not like the interface probably dosnt have much power too change it themselves

Please, give us the power to change it, even if you wont. Let us just add a little button in the settings to switch it to emule mode. pllzzz, we beg of you. it does not have to be obtrusive.

We need to find programmers that can do this for us or we need to keep pestering the developers to do it. We need to keep at it or else it'll never change.
