Bug Description
The 3 animations:
- windows resizing
- windows positioning
- background darkening
are not synchronised.
Windows resizing and positioning should happen at the same time (same duration, same easing). The background darkening should happen more in synch with the other 2. It is ok if the duration for the latter is slightly longer.
For 12.04: If it is not possible to implement as suggested, we should change the default speed for this transition to 3.5 (as you can do with CCSM)

@bilalakhtar: the solution proposed for 12.04 shouldn't require any design work.
