Been using this fix for about a week now. The whole GUI is a lot more responsive. It seems to solve a lot of the lag / hangs in accessing menus and especially when working in LO Calc (mainly when changing cell formats in pretty large worksheets with a lot of formulas).
I do still get some hangs within Calc when switching from one sheet to another; either through the menu or through the bar.
Those hangs are always accompanier by intensive disc access. When I check the system monitor there is no or hardly any swap file.

Running 12.04.02 amd64, LO 403ubuntu1-precise on a Dell 131L (AMD cpu and chipset, ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 gpu)

cheers
Tom

Hi,

After use compiz with this patch, I found the password dialog won't show in gnome-screensaver after the screen turn off when inactive for sometimes.

The bug #1207639 is caused by this one.

Bin,

Ubuntu (millions of users) have been using the fix for this bug for almost 9 months without an issue. Whatever you think is causing bug 1207639, it is probably not the fix for this bug.

Oh. Unless you mean bug 1207639 is caused by the absence of the fix for this bug....

Daniel,

What I mean is that after I upgrade from 1:0.9.7.12-0ubuntu1 to 1:0.9.7.12-0ubuntu2, I met the issue which password dialog can't show up, you can also input the password, then it will login into the desktop.

I also find the #1053895 in 0.9.9 might be a fix for our issue.

Daniel,

I find the the reason, the blacklist_precise_mesa80_intel_nouveau.patch allow 9.0.x Mesa, if I edit the /usr/share/compiz/opengl.xml, and remove the '$', the issue disappeared.
