vlc is shown under the following Software Categories
"Graphics", "Featured"
whereas vlc should be shown under the following Software Categories
"Sound and video"

I confirm that the categories appears to be wrong.
It's not only VLC. I see a lot of Mplayer/Video related in the "Graphics" category.

Sound and video category:
http://
After a fast browsing of first page of the software in the "Graphics" category I found all these to be in the wrong category.
