Bug Description
According to a recent update from Adobe (found here: http://
"We have temporarily closed the Labs program of Flash Player 10 for 64-bit Linux, as we are making significant architectural changes to the 64-bit Linux Flash Player and additional security enhancements. We are fully committed to bringing native 64-bit Flash Player for the desktop by providing native support for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux 64-bit platforms in an upcoming major release of Flash Player. We intend to provide more regular update information on our progress as we continue our work on 64-bit versions of Flash Player. Thank you for your continued help and support. Stay tuned to the Flash Player discussion forum for further announcements."
The web page no longer offers the download of x64 flash.
I have just tested the script available in the project here, and it still functions properly. The x64 flash plugin IS still hosted on the server, but it is not readily available through other means. They may pull the file from the servers at any time.
We could possibly contact Adobe to get permission to privately host the last available version of the plugin (the one that this script uses) on this project, or we could resort to other methods, such as third party PPA's or repos.
Either way, it is entirely possible that this script will spontaneously stop working

As per the conversation here: http:// ubuntuforums. org/showthread. php?t=1506645
It has been brought to my attention that the x64 version was axed because of critical security holes. Rather than patching it, Adobe decided to pull it.
