Josh, that looks great!
Its in svg format too, so we could easily scale it for the different dimensions.

Ill put it up and we could see how it looks from there!

Tom, the logos you put up were pixelated, I've uploaded some non-pixelated ones. Two questions:
  * Are we going to use the logo on the team as well?
  * Do we start a branch for the logo, or just post updates here?

I suppose we could use this report as a discussion for the future iterations of the logo, but we could definitely start a branch for the images.

Is there a way to make the branch private, so that only members can view it?

We could also use this icon for the team too, if you want.

Tom, I think keeping this bug as general branding discussion is a great idea. However we can't start a private branch because then it wouldn't really be open source.

I'll start a branch, but feel free to create an official one and merge mine into it if you want. I'll also see how the logo looks for the team and maybe also create a more compact version for use as the project icon.

I've got a branch set up ( lp:~joshbrown/codemonkey/brand ) and I've created a more compact version of the logo, but it looks like you're the only one who can change the brand on the Code Monkey team.

Can I ask exactly how you were able to convert the svg to a format that was 1) accepted by launchpad as a valid image file and 2) didnt have pixelation artifacts from the image format?

I used Inkscape ( File -> Export Bitmap... ), it creates a PNG at whatever size you want. Since it's an SVG there are no 'pixelation artifacts', whatever you used just didn't do it very well.

I was using gimp.

out of pure convenience, would it be at all possible for this branch to include the files in the proper dimensioned images, as well as the pure svg?

the needed dimensions are 14x14, 64x64, and 192x192.
this way, once the new versions are updated, we could simply export the proper size images and upload to branch for immediate use.

Uploading the exported PNG images to the branch did occur to me, but it's not source code so it's not really supposed to be there - anyway, you can always download them directly from he website ( https://launchpad.net/codemonkey/+branding ). But if it'll make things easier then I'll put them up.

Tom, I've added a script that will automatically generate PNGs for Launchpad, all you need to do is install Inkscape, run the script and upload the bitmaps. Since you're the only one who can change the teams branding, I've assigned this bug to you.
