Update Check Reports Wrong Client Version

Bug Description

Update check "thinks" I have the wrong version or rather reports I have the wrong version. It says that I am running the latest 0.96.5, despite that the disk image and the "About Coccinella" says I am now running 0.96.6.

K, I tested this with a daily and there is also inconsistency between what "About Coccinella" reports (0.96.6) and the version appended to the app's name (Coccinella-0.96.7).

Yes, Mats forgot to update the internal version number. This is no big deal and does not hurt in any way. The About dialog shows the right number as the GIF file is updated separately with each release. The About dialog shows the wrong number in the daily builds (development version) as we don't think it's worth the effort to update the GIF file for the unofficial devel version. Best would be that Mats added support for SVG splashscreens so that the version number could be set automatically...

This is still an issue or there's been a regression. I'm currently running the public release 0.94.6, and I'm being told that 0.98.8 is available - from Wednesday 30 April 2008.

Have there been no updates in the past year and 3/4 on this project???

 False alarm... No regression at all - seems I somehow got a cached
download page that pointed to the old version of the app on SF.net

The update feature was still wrong though - it identified the version
from May of 2008 as the newest.
