SOme time ago I got an almost identical bug report which I was never able
to reproduce. Nevertheless I rewrote some of the internals of the roster
handling to manage similar situations. It seems to be caused by presence
sent without having any subscription. This one is related to a transport
and it is precisely this kind of code that is rewritten. When trying to add
a nonlocal user at jwchat.org nothing happens. So I don't know how to track
this issue.

Maybe some bugs in the LiveJournal server as with Google Talk?
