Bug Description
if I try and scan any files and folders it reports that:
Couldn't scan <my file or folder> lstat() failed: Permission denied
even if I try and scan stuff in my home folder or usb device.

That's odd, I've not seen that error ever. If I remove all read permissions from a file, I get "Couldn't scan /path/to/foo (Access denied).", but not the "lstat() failed: Permission denied".
One thread I've read about this error (http:// www.gossamer- threads. com/lists/ clamav/ users/46001 ) suggests that it could be related to SELinux - do you use that?
