Bug Description
The code to support searching heads in mongodb is complicated and is not technically needed AFAIK. All the revisionless searches that we issue for mongo can be satisfied by elasticsearch, except for sync_index.
Switching to elasticsearch will dramatically simplify the code for retrieving head revisions, even the sync_index code.
