Bug Description
It is definitely a wishlist one, but in my opinion simple to implement and worth looking at.
I actually close all the apps atfer I finish using them. Therefore I always do two swipes - from the right to bring out an app switcher and then swipe up the app to close it. I have a few ideas to improve this and brush up a bit usability of task switcher on touch.
Idea 1 - single-gesture app closing:
- User swipes from the right just as he wanted to open app switcher
- When the drag is at the state which would switch to next app immediately after relase (the simple alt-tab manner) a hint appears in the top right corner (for ex. an X symbol and arrows pointing up)
- User swipes up/down instead of continuing the movement to the left (effectively whole gesture is an "L" letter written from the right-bottom)
- App closes and user is brought to the previous app immediately
- It could be also an option to close an app and return to desktop/scopes immediately. Mabye an ability to swipe up/down during swiping from the left as one wanted to return home?
Idea 2 - closing all apps at once:
- A "close all" button at the top (or top right/left) corner
- Two or three finger swipe up/down closes all apps and returns to desktop
Be aware that the apps are automatically killed (suspended) in the background and consume no resources, so ts not really necessary to close them at all.
