Bug Description

As in description. In my bq i see sometimes an alarm clock icon even if the alarm time passed and the alarm clock is no longer active.

Set the alarm clock
Let it ring and turn it off. The icon stays visible for some time which i can not exactly specify.

Thanks for taking your time to report this bug.

I believe the problem is not in the Clock app itself but rather in indicator-datetime https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime

I also noticed the clock icon appears randomly in date/time indicator even when there is no alarm set. It vanishes as soon as I drag down the top panel.
My device is bq E5.

Clock icon also randomly appears in the taskbar without any alarms being set, when you pull down one of the indicators it will disappear. Same problem Anupam has reported.

I observed the same behaviour (i.e. false alarm clock icon appearing at midnight, as in #8) each and every day for last 7-8 days. So probably it's not a random behaviour. Can anyone else confirm?

I disabled all alarms, manually changed time to 23:58 and looked at the screen until 00:02 but nothing happened. The icon didn't show up. Tested 2 times.

I noticed it appeared sometimes, not always, after midnight, but I occasionally observed it appearing during the day too. It doesnt happen often but still it does happen here and there, it seems random to me.

I just noticed that short after unlocking the screen, if the "window" that You see in the picture is set as the very first thing You see, the alarm clock shows itself as active (the switch is green) and after a few seconds it switches itself automatically to grey-turned off position. So the phone really "thinks" for a few seconds that the alarm clock is active.
On my phone it worked this way:
1. Turn alarm clock off.
2. Set the screen that you see in an attachment as visible.
3.Wait untill the screen locks itself.
4.Unlock the screen
5.For a few seconds after unlocking You're gonna see that the alarm is active (green switch) then after a few seconds the switch turnes automatically to grey (alarm off) without touching the screen.

Ps to #12
This instruction works only randomly (not always) but i saw this behaviour already a few times. For some reason some part of the phone thinks that alarm clock is on and after a few seconds it checks the real alarm state and correts it.

I'm experiencing the alarm cock icon appearing at midnight for last two weeks without a miss!
Here's my setup:
- I have 4 alarms in the alarm list.
- I activate one/two alarm(s) for the morning (no fixed time, I modify according to my need everyday). I don't activate at the previous night, I do on the same day (after 01:00).
- I cancel the active alarm(s) in the morning after they go off. Some days I hit snooze 2-3 times.
- Repeat on the next day!

What I noticed in two cases (valid also for a bug#1560373) is that the notification area doesn't update its status. It shows the alarm clock icon or network icon with no connection only as long as we do not drop notification area down. Always when I pull it down, the network icon updates and false alarm clock disappears. Seems like a whole notification area falls asleep and takes its status from an unknown point in time.

I do not know if it may help: yesterday I set an alarm clock to check the bug on OTA13. In the alarm list if we have an active alarm set, we can read how much time left till the alarm rings.
Yesterday right after it rang I wanted to set it one more time: as I opened the app I could see an information "one minute ago" for a past alarm. Unfortunatelly I didn't make a screenshot
