"Favorites" bug in contacts after OTA-8

I noticed that too, and when a contact is added to the favourites on the phone, there is a synchronization error.

@Jinbel: looks like you have a old configuration file on your device (due a previous update). You will need to manually remove it. You can follow the steps describe on this page: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlan/buteo-sync section 'Restore from previous update'

About the reported bug, looks like the migration script (syncevolution->buteo), failed to import the old favorites.

@Krzysztof, could you attach the updater log file? you can find it on '~/.cache/upstart/address-book-updater.log'

These files does not contain the necessary information for debug it. Probably it get removed by the system already. I will mark the bug as incomplete.

I've wiped everything and switched to rc-proposed. Added Google account, sync contacts and still nothing - no favorites automatically downloaded. And because I was working before latest OTA, it should be repaired till 9th number.

bug expanded - I found one person in my favorite tab in phone that was there some time ago (but I've deleted it from there in google.com/contacts) - now I've marked 4 contacts with a star - none of them are in favorite tab in Contacts app. Even more, I can't find some contacts in phone in normal 'All contacts' tab (yes, I can see them in google.com/contacts and in android phone contacts app), approximately 4-10 contacts missing in app. Maybe API changed?"

We currently do not support favorte sync btw google and local dabase.

Contacts marked as favorite on local database will be synced with a extra field 'x-favorite', and this is not recoginize by google. But this will allows us to keep track of favorite contacts locally.

To Implement the full favorite feature we need to implement google contacts group support (favorite is just a group for google), this require some extra work and this is part of our TODO list already.

I will keep this bug update with our progress.
