Bug Description
Running the standard Caliber for Ubuntu 16, which is Calibre 2.55. Now after an operation such as putting a book on 'device' or "Update cached metadata on device", the Kindle is ejected and thus needs to be unplugged and then plugged in. This has just started happening after a system update. The system update did not change Calibre however, I remember some portion of python was updated. A test system running Ubuntu 18 with it's standard Calibre 3.21, continues to work as expected.

Don't use extremely old versions of calibre.
