I don't know if this is a symptom of the fragmentation bug: #
And somewhat related to my experience with bug #423804.
However, when I just checked the repository at:
sftp://bazaar.launchpad.net/~bzr-pqm/bzr/bzr.dev/.bzr/repository/packs
I see that there is:
95080160 Sep 03 10:00 b2694145eba374df0f4db8531dc737f9.pack
Which is a 95MB pack file.
Perhaps we've grown a bit, but the last time I checked, bzr.dev should be able to fit in about 30-40MB of storage.
I have a copy here that is around 60MB when spread across many loose packs. But this is a single large pack which is about 3x larger than I would have expected.
I'll run 'bzr pack' and see what it ends up as. |
Symptoms
========
A newly converted repository has more than one pack and not as much space savings as anticipated.
Cause
=====
A bug inside the 2a format code when an autopack occurs meant that the packs written during autopack were not selected for later repacking at the end of the conversion.
Workaround
==========
Running 'bzr pack' will cause a full pack to take place. |
