Notification area icon doesn't say what it's for

The new bzr notification area icon has just appeared upon upgrading, I had to read a bug report to find out it's to do with sharing branches via mdns.

What does the presence of the icon tell me? Is it that I have mdns installed, that I am sharing a branch (I don't remember sharing one, but could easily have forgotten), that there are shared branches on the network?

One solution could be a tooltip that provides some useful information "Sharing x branches via mdns" or "x shared branches found".
