Bug Description

Hi,
I had this bug recently while upgrading my ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04

I was upgrading via synaptic and at a point it crashed.

After that I re-run dpkg 1-2 times and it remembered its progress and went all fine.

In the end it ran its --configure process...

I had to run dpkg --configure -a

or
 dpkg --configure syslinux
 dpkg --configure extlinux

I think extlinux is some virtual package around syslinux..

Anyways - no matter how one gets to it - the matter is - when you configure syslinux via dpkg - this below happnes:

The bug is:
I get a

----
:~$ sudo dpkg --configure extlinux
Setting up extlinux (2:4.05+dfsg-2) ...
P: Checking for EXTLINUX directory... found.
P: Writing config for /boot/vmlinuz-3.0.0-15-generic-pae...
P: Writing config for /boot/vmlinuz-3.0.0-14-generic-pae...
E: /usr/share/syslinux/themes/debian/extlinux: No such file or directory

----

A workaround solution is to symlink /usr/share/syslinux/themes/debian -> /usr/share/syslinux/themes/debian-squeeze

cause it is the only one dir present in themes ...
The dpkg script should check for a debian-* folder in there if there is a "debian" folder missing ...

--

Actually just purging and installing again extlinux makes the symlinks on its own...

We neeed to check that this symlink happens also on upgrades...

I just had this problem on a kernel upgrade, using an up-to-date precise system. I had recently purged syslinux. Purging extlinux as well fixed the problem.
