Bug Description

Hi,

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 beta with Gnome Shell under Virtual Box.

When I add the Calendar app to the task bar, the time and date displayed are unreadable. When I open up the Calendar it is also light-gray rather than the brown theme color. It seems like the Calendar app is not inheriting the theme color settings.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/951809/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

What calendar app and what theme are you using? Is this an extension? Can you send a screenshot?

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your quick response. As requested I have attached some screen
shots that demonstrate the issue.

Everything is out of the box and set to default, including the theme. The
calender panel app is chosen from the default list of apps that can be
added to the task bar.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,
Luke

Ok, that's actually GNOME Classic (gnome-panel); GNOME Shell looks like http://www.gnome.org/gnome-3/

I think this is a duplicate of bug 828392, where Ambiance & Radiance don't work quite right with gnome-panel.

Hi Jeremy,

I know. That's what I reported in the original bug. It's an issue with
Gnome Classic:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/951809

The confusion might have been because to get Gnome Classic you install
Gnome Shell (I should have worded that differently).

It seems to have a strong resemblance to bug 828392.

Thanks,
Luke
