Bug Description
On upgrading to 12.04, the text of the calendar applet and the list of open windows is rendered almost as dark as the background, making the text almost impossible to read. Screenshot is attached. The text was lighter in 11.10.

I now notice that for java applications as well, the menu text is also too dark to read, one navigates blind ...
