Bug Description
Version - Ubuntu/Xubuntu - 11.10 amd64
Kernel - 3.0.0-15-generic
By default Ubuntu selects the r8169 driver for my network adapter. To some extent it works but it is hardly useable. Transfer speeds are very low and often connections time out. Packet loss is through the roof. Other users have reported that after some time the driver will crash and cause the entire system to lock up. The current solution for those of us with this problem is to download and build the r8168 drivers from reltek as seen here. http://
