Bug Description
I tried to install ubuntu 12.04 A1 on my system, but the system hanged each time, using the F2 key during the install/boot process, I narrowed it down to the b43 wireless driver. So at the primary install page via the F6 key, I used:
b43.blacklist=yes
I then proceeded to install the system, which failed on first boot, so I used the same command within GRUB and then added blacklist b43 to /etc/modprobe.
Was there a better way to do this?
P.S. On the original F2 listings, I noticed that the system reported that the b43 firmware wasn't available and then it would hang.

Booting from liveCD or fresh install using alternate CD hangs with error:
b43-phy0 ERROR: Firmware file "b43/ucode5.fw" not found ucode5. fw" not found wireless. kernel. org/en/ users/Drivers/ b43#devicefirmw are and download the correct firmware for this driver version. Please carefull read all instructions on this website.
b43-phy0 ERROR: Firmware file "b43-open/
b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to http://
So currently is not possible to install 12.04 on systems with Broadcom wireless (without blacklisting b43).
If you manage to blacklist b43, then install firmware- b43-installer and problem is fixed.
