Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
About a year ago gnome added code to "preserve" the clipboard contents if the source application is closed down. This seems to work for gnome apps, but the app that I am usually copying from is Firefox or Epiphany. When I copy something on Firefox, then close down the browser and open a text editor, the clipboard information is gone. I have to keep firefox open for the clipboard content to not get destroyed. This is something that needs fixing because it has a major impact in the overall experience of the desktop system.

This is a known bug and there is probably another bug open about
this already. I almost certainly remember that there is an upstream
bug for this.
