Bug Description
The h5py HDF lib supports creation of HDF5 files with compressed data (for example, using gzip). We should make use of this if possible.
Note: For the first iteration of the calculator, this is not a critical feature. As we start running large calculations through the UHS calculator, however, this will become a much more necessary feature.
