Bug Description

I tested Cheese on 4 laptops and my desktop computer.
And on all of them it shows an image with no real colors, lines, etc...
On the laptops, It seems to be partially fixed by lowering the resolution of the camera.
But in the desktop computer, the camara shows lines, strange colors, etc...

I attach a photo to the unity launcher that I shot when Im writing this, from Cheese, without any effect/etc.. enabled.

I think its produced by the "Color" calibration available on the Gnome 3.2 control panel... because I installed Cheese 3.0 in Natty from Gnome 3 ppa, and it doesn't have this problems.

Isn't bad quality, it's color disorder.

I have the same bug. This is almost certainly a Cheese bug. The issue on my x220 Thinkpad does not exist in skype which rules out the kernel. I don't know what other package to test with.

ii cheese 3.2.0-0ubuntu2 tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam
ii cheese-common 3.2.0-0ubuntu2 Common files for the Cheese tool to take pictures and videos
rc libcheese-gtk18 2.32.0-0ubuntu2 A tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - widgets
ii libcheese-gtk20 3.2.0-0ubuntu2 tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - widgets
ii libcheese1 3.2.0-0ubuntu2 tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - base library

But if it is.. my webcam is:
