Bug Description
When a appmenu item is open or an indicator, its impossible to use user shortcuts like Ctrl+Alt+L to Lock the screen, or app defined shortcuts like Ctrl+O to open a file or even media keys.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation.
It seems that this affects not only indicators but also the appmenu but not Eclipse, for example, whose menu isn't exported over dbus so its a dbusmenu problem.
Affects shortcuts and media keys alike.
