Bug Description

I just installed Ubuntu 11.04. It reset my computer and when I logged in there were no panels. I cannot access anything.
I have used a work-around up to now by typing unity into terminal, and then by making a desktop launcher to start unity, and then by putting it in start-up applications. It is related to nvidia cards. I would like to just press the start button and have natty come up. This is a bug I can't fix, can u?

Changed in gnome-panel (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I have the same problem. After upgrading to ubutnu 10.04 after a reboot or startup gnome (not unity) automatically starts but the pannels are just not there.
My workaround at the moment:
start a terminal ( I added a desktop starter for that) and type gnome-panel in there. Then the panels appear and I can do whatever I what with them.

I must say that I do not have an nVidia card but an ATI. I attached the output of lshw

Workaround: If you have any folders on the desktop, you can click one of them and navigate to /usr/bin. There launch gnome-panel, and it should show up.
