Bug Description

the netbook doesn't recover from hibernate in ubuntu 11.04 I get a black screen with colors at the top. I tried this on battery and on power while closing the lid and the off button. I have tried installing the "hibernate" package which didn't help. Please note that I did not have this problem with Ubuntu 10.10.

Thanks for your work with Ubuntu and thanks for looking into this problem.

Same here on a EeePC 1005P and a Dell Inspiron 1011 (both netbooks). A very confusing bug... The only way I found to restore the screen is to suspend and resume, but it does not always work; in order to do this, you have to "blindly" unlock the screensaver first (type your password, hit enter and hope it'll work).

In 10.10, it worked like a charm.

Hello there, I started with ubuntu 10.04 and I had problems to use hibernation with that version, when I upgraded to ubuntu 10.10 it worked wonderful but some weeks ago I upgraded to 11.04 and again I had issues with the hibernation, there was a error related to the space, so I increased the space in swap partition and no I don't see the error. It looks like the hibernation copy is made correctly but when I start the computer it starts like if it was powered off normally, it doesn't make hibernation recovery.

The suspend works fine, it goes to suspend and it returns back successful.

My laptop is a Toshiba L455. i386.
