Bug Description

Binary package hint: ekiga

I have a snd-hda-intel driver on my asus a7F laptop...
I recorder 3 tracks in audacity. First recording is fine. anything aftger that is screwed to all heck.
Check the file to notice the changes.

The solution for me was to use dmix. As sad as it is... even new cards can't handle multi sound and record very well. wether the driver or the hardware. Both could even be to blam.

This may be a known bug, see http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/release-notes -- "Recording in full duplex (playing existing tracks while recording) on some systems causes mono recordings to sound distorted or low-pitched. To work around this problem, set Audacity to record in stereo."

Thanks for your bug report. Could you please check if the workaround of comment #3 (record in stereo) changes anything? Also, please look at the 2nd comment on http://limpet.net/audacity/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=170 to see if you are experiencing the same issue, or something else.

Fixed: According to upstream, this happened when using ALSA's OSS emulation and audacity 1.3.x has native ALSA support, which works in stereo or mono.
