Bug Description
If a user drags a file past the border of the Desktop Dash, the Dash should disappear. This allows the user to continuing dragging and then drop the file onto a window that was occulted by the desktop dash.
Desired resolution:
- The Dash should not close until the user drags a item *outside* of the Dash area
- This applies to all Dash Lenses, not just the File Lens

This appears to already be implemented in natty (with the latest unity 3.8.14- 0ubuntu1~ natty1) . Or am I imagining things?
But see also bug 773892 which is not yet resolved.
