When listening to MP3 files in the totem, I can't seem to seek

This happens to me, too, but it only seems to affect certain .mp3 files. I'm assuming it's a GStreamer issue?

It was so bad, as not only mp3 files, but also I couldn't watch any video files that I rolled back to 10.10 on my desktop. I hope by the time the final release is out this issue would be fixed.

Got it fixed. Remove the gstreamer ugly and bad and install the multiverse version, that will let you seek. Also install gstreamer0.10-fluendo-plugins-mp3-parnter

After that you should be able to seek with Totem when you playing MP3 files.

For the impatient, this solved my problem too:

sudo apt-get remove gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse gstreamer0.10-fluendo-plugins-mp3-partner

It works, but if I do that, I can't play WebM videos.
