Bug Description

o Mount a webdavs share via nautilus
o Browse it and open a file from it with OOo
o It prompts for a username/password, which does not work, the just repeatedly asks for the password

apache error logs suggest that the username is somehow not being sent:

[error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] user not found: /somefile.ods

which is backed up by the repeat authentication dialogs from OOo not including a username, just the password.

As a test, I tried starting OOo first and then opening a file from the mounted share. This causes OOo to block for a while, with blinking network lights (suggesting it is downloading the file), but it then asks which import filter to use and then complains of an input/output error.

It works fine with a similarly mounted SMB share.

Does this bug still affect you on Ubuntu hardy with OOo 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3? The smb related bug appears to be fixed but I have no webdav server to test the webdav support.

Thanks,

Chris

I´ve got exactly the same issue, but it´s not anyhow related to OpenOffice.org. I cannot access my webdav share on who.hasfiles.com service.
It asks for password again and again. Cancelling this shows the following error message:

Can't display location "dav://<username>@<username>.hasfiles.com:80/storage"
Not a WebDAV enabled share

Well, it´s not even a secured share.

@Mike, Z: If you cannot even access the webdav share, then it cannot be the same issue, because the original poster was able to browse the webdav share. Please check bug #231941.

I've just reopened this bug because I have the same problem (with Lucid). I'm running a webdav server on https and am trying to open a document with OO.org (other files work fine!)

Apache sees a request: "PROPFIND /_dav/test/contacts.ods HTTP/1.1" 207 1178 "-" "gvfs/1.6.0"
However, I get an error "General input/output error while accessing /home/jay/.gvfs/WebDAV on my.server.nl/test/contacts.ods"

I don't see anything in dmesg or other logs. How can I help track this down?
