Bug Description

I switched to dovecot from courier about a year ago and the performance of dovecot has been fantastic! I'm working on a qmail project using vpopmail/qmailadmin and was excited to see vpopmail directives in the dovecot config file. To my dismay, however, after setting the proper options, dovecot failed to run because the ubuntu package is built without the necessary --with-vpopmail option. I modified my local package and rebuilt dovecot, but would like to respectfully request that the vpopmail option be set in the distro version. Otherwise, please describe reasons for the vpopmail capabilities being disabled.

Thanks for your help!

vpopmail is no longer packaged in ubuntu. It was part of universe/multiverse until Breezy.

Debian removed vpopmail from their archive in August 2006 (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=382944).
