Bug Description
1.) Start the installation from the LiveCD (Ubuntu 6.10) or just start gparted stand-alone from the LiveCD (Ubuntu 6.10) on a Sony Vaio VGN-S580BH. The hardware of the laptop looks like this according to lspci:

4.) It is impossible to install Ubuntu 6.10 on such a system, although the normal system operates flawless, if run only from the LiveCD.
