Bug Description
I know this can be done because I have seen screenshots of the sound menu etc. But whenever I try to take a screenshot with the "Print Screen" button it refused to open the screenshot dialog.
I think this might be a regression because I remember taking a screenshot of my desktop in Lucid with the MessagingMenu open.

Just found this out today and remembered I'd seen this bug. Confirming that it doesn't work for me in Lucid.
Infact the PrtScr / screenshot key doesn't seem to work when any menu is open anywhere, so it seems this is not specific to the Indicator Applets.
You might be able to take a screenshot of a menu in Virtualbox by unfocussing back to your host system after opening the menu and then pressing the key.
