Explanation of the Ubuntu change and why it can be dropped:

the only change in the Ubuntu package, "99_binutils_gold.diff: Add -lgcrypt to LDFLAGS for binutils-gold, fixes FTBFS (LP: #665276)" has been included in Debian.
