The messages in the .bzr.log file are also related:
42.881 55 bytes left on the HTTP socket
42.885 55 bytes left on the HTTP socket
42.890 55 bytes left on the HTTP socket
cleanup_pipe() should not fail if the connection is lost at that point and for good measure we should not emit the warning if the last marker is *expected*
I had a longer explanation for all of this but I lost the bug report while lp was read-only :(
