Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
if you start oo and load any file (*.doc, odt,...) the first time, the app will get gray for some secs and then it will load the file. This could take up to 30 sec.
If you have loaded the first file, any file which you open afterwards will be faster without graying out the app.
On the web, I found, the that if you disconnect from the network, the file will load on the first time fast.
So using wireshark I fund that oo trys to mak a DNS lookup for "knuffel.(none)" where knuffel is the hostname (/etc/hostname).
So adding th entry knuffel.(none) to /etc/hosts after "127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.
I experienced this behaviour on different computers.
Maybe this is a ubuntu install issue as well??
Arne Plöse, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Does this issue occur for you in LibreOffice Writer?
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer
