Bug Description

Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 12.04

In current maverick, I keep getting a message in the notification area saying "update information is outdated". This should not show up because I update every day in the terminal. One reason could be that I have "automatic updates" switched off in the update manager.

Have you tried to turn on automatic updates and check if is still happen? by the way, I am not sure if this issue is related to gnome-panel.

OK, will try with automatic updates for a while now. But who is sending this notification to the panel if I have automatic updates switched off? I know this didn't happen in lucid.

And when you open update manager, do you have a wrong information about the time since your last update?

Yeah, update manager shows that my last update was 2 days ago even though I never use update manager and update in the terminal, but did so much more recently than 2 days ago.

Thanks, but in my case it has nothing to do with missing keys. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I usually update in the terminal instead of update manager.
