Binary package hint: software-center
I install a package downloaded from an external source, alos it does is not in a PPA. When i search in the tab "Installed Applications" i can't find it. This need to be fixed, ectually before remove Synaptic in Ubuntu 11.04.

The issue is essentially due to the fact that your newly installed .deb can't be found anywhere in Software Center.
