no way to set dpi per application

Bug Description

Binary package hint: wine

Ubuntu 10.04

To reproduce run winecfg and:
1. open "Applications" tab and select "Default Settings"
2. go to "Graphics" -> "Screen Resolution", set to 96 dpi
3. go to "Applications" -> "Add application..." -> choose some .exe
4. select newly added .exe then set "Graphics" -> "Screen Resolution" to 202 dpi
5. go back to "Applications" and select "Default Settings"
6. go to "Graphics" -> "Screen Resolution" and see it shows 202 dpi instead of 96 dpi.

Information in "Applications" tab provide wine should save settings from "Graphics" and "Libraries" tabs on the per application basis.

What's more, it would allow to configure wine to open old 800x600 applications in virtual desktop with higher DPI and actually use it in 1920x1080, etc.

This change needs to be made at the upstream level.
If you can, please make the request at http://bugs.winehq.org/ and post the bug number back here
As workaround, can you not just install the relevant application in a separate WINEPREFIX?

I agree separate wine-prefix is an alternative but according to how I understand the issue prefix isn't a workaround. Application profiles are there to avoid such thing (creating separate wine-prefix for every application is simply a bad idea). And I mentioned the thing because it is a bug - maybe a low priority one as it shouldn't stop anyone from using the software but it certainly isn't a wish. "Applications" tab of winecfg literally says this functionality has already been implemented (!), yet, it doesn't work:

"Wine can mimic different Windows versions for each application. This tab is linked to the Libraries and Graphics tabs to allow you to change systemwide or per-application settings in those tabs as well."

Either the above information or the functionality should be changed - that's what I meant.

Sorry, I cannot for some reason install plugin necessary for posting a bug on http://bugs.winehq.org - Namoroka doesn't like it. It would be cool if someone post this for me as I cannot take care of this plugin problem at the moment and will probably forget about posting the bug later on. Thanks in advance.

Resolution should be able to be configured per desktop (i.e. all applications
running on a particular desktop), not per an particular application on the same
desktop.

No update for two years and download is not available. Is this still an issue in 1.5.23 or higher ? Or should this be closed as abandoned ?
