Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Kubuntu 10.10 Beta live

This system works very well with kwin compositing on 10.04, but not with 10.10. Even after disabling blur, enabling compositing causes X to freeze. Upgraded to the mesa in the ~sarvatt/mesa PPA and still had the same problem.

Have you tested this with the mesa 7.9~git20100924-0ubuntu1 packages? I thought they worked on all of your systems?

It still defaults to disabled (not just suspended), but once enabled works reasonably well. I'm willing to call it fixed.

upgraded one hour ago: still not working opengl, need to switch on xrender. No blur effect, no aladdin lamp, and so on. kubuntu maverick i386, intel i915. Same system with ubuntu 10.04 and compiz works flawlessly.
