Bug Description

Twitter have disabled basic authentication, meaning Gwibber can no longer access twitter accounts.

This may be a gradual thing but it certainly applies to my account now.

Bug #570875 says "We are already aware of this and are planning to implement support for xAuth, a variant of OAuth that Twitter is providing for desktop applications."

It's not been updated since 4/27.

call for testing: please use the version of gwibber from Ubuntu Desktop teams ppa. https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ppa the issue is fixed in the ppa version and the fix will make it into Lucid and Maverick after a little testing.
