Bug Description

Several source files are on freedesktop.org GIT tree, but absent from gst-plugins-good package.
So far these files were not used, but on OMAP we need at least gstv4l2xoverlay.c.
Below is an extract of the missing files:
    sys/v4l2/gstv4l2xoverlay.c (its .h exists)
    ext/esd/esdmon.c
    ext/libpng/gstpng.h
    sys/oss/gstossdmabuffer.c
    sys/oss/oss_probe.c

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

This is purely a packaging problem, not related to upstream (freedesktop.org).
Some upstream soure code (such as sys/v4l2/gstv4l2xoverlay.c) is missing from the debian source package (gst-plugins-good0.10_0.10.24.3.orig.tar.bz2).

no it's not, the tarball is coming from upstream not ubuntu

@olivier: we need to talk to upstream about the reason for not putting these files into the release tarball, if there are no blocking reasons (i.e. legality, stability) we can indeed include these files but an upstream comment why they do not ship them in their release is essential here.

This bug can be closed, as the upstream bug was rejected.
Rationale is that gstc4l2xoverlay.c is not used and not functional as is.
On short term, for OMAP we are maintaining a derived working version.
On longer term, a working v4l2 plugin will likely be moved to gst-plugins-bad.
