Bug Description

When user hibernate (suspend to disk) Ubuntu, any splash or progress bar is displayed, the screen just sometimes freeze or sometimes become black until hibernate is finally done.
This can confuse the user because he is not sure if hibernate process is going on property.
Please add a splash screen or progress bar for hibernate process like other distros do (for instance OpenSuse).

this is especially a problem if you , like me, sometimes encounter problems with hibernating and can not see in any way apart from disk activity if it is still working or not. This way i have to wait every time until the 4GB of RAM are written to disk until i can put the Laptop into the bag or leave it.
It would definitely help if there was a splash screen or at least a console output with percentage or status

What are the required packages? Are they included in Ubuntu's repos?

I have seen two kinds of progress indicators in others distributions:
Firt is graphical and I think it is done with splashy.
The second is in text mode and i am not sure what package does it, kernel?
