Bug Description

Binary package hint: grsync

Grsync have a too geeky description in software center. In french, it is 'synchroniser des fichiers avec rsync' (synchronise files using rsync). But a noob doesn't know what is rsync. I think it should be something like synchroniser des fichiers et dossiers entre plusieurs emplacements (synchronize files and folders between differents places ). I think that the description mustn't contain rsync world,no matter the language : a noob could be afraid by this new horrible world!

-------------
[Current short/long Description:]

Synchronize files with rsync

grsync is a simple graphical interface using GTK2 for the rsync command line program.
It currently supports only a limited set of the most important rsync features, but can be used effectively for local directory synchronization.

Well , rsync is not really something a new user would be looking for. It is a command line program and there is really no way of avoiding using "rsync" in the description. rsync needs to be in the description.
Maybe "GTK2" can be removed but i dont really see too much of a problem with the description mainly because Grsync is not an application the average user will be looking for.

Any suggestions?

It's not rsync, it's grsync, a graphical tool, that's the point!
I knowsome people search ways synchronbize files (maybe between a harddisk and a USB device) tool, and not too difficult too use. So grync should have an understandable description for simple users who just want to synchronise files, no matter how it works.

Grsync is currently the #9 search result for "sync". So it doesn't matter whether people are looking for it specifically, it still needs a description that will help people decide whether it is the kind of sync utility they are looking for. It's fine for the description to mention rsync, but at the moment, mentioning rsync and GTK2 is just about *all* it does, which isn't helpful.

I don't think this is an issue. If a user is looking for it, they know what rsync is, and therefore the description would be what they're looking for.

MPT changed this before. I'm going to do it on his behalf and quote him:

Since rewriting the brief description of this package is a trivial task, I am going to confirm this as a papercut.
