Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have Kubuntu 10.04, and
after 30 mount, my disk was checked at boot time,
it displays "press C to bypass disk check",
but pressing C won't bypass it

affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) → plymouth (Ubuntu)

Please could you try pressing 'Esc' to see if that will skip the drive test. If it does it would make this a duplicate of bug 574983.

Esc did not skip the check, it simply removed the graphical screen and displayed some text with many warning messages about some deprecated options, then stop, and pressing Esc again would go back to the graphical screen at the point it was before

Can you please check what version of plymouth and mountall is installed as bug 562811 is similar but a fix has been released. You can do this by using synaptic or the terminal with something like dpkg -s plymouth

The Esc key is not supposed to skip the disk check. Bug #574983 is probably a misleadingly-described duplicate of bug #571707.

In fact, I'm reasonably confident that your bug is also a duplicate of bug #571707; marking as such.
