Bug Description

I had already a ad-hoc network created by nm-applet which worked, but today I started it again, then it connected and disconnected multiple times. So I disabled auto-connect in the settings and tried to connect via "connect to a hidden network" and the nm-applet disappeared in the Systemtray (no Crashreport). I started nm-applet newly and tried again to connect and nm-applet disappeared again.

info:The diasappear only happens when the wrong encryption is set.
(e.g. none instead of wep 64/128)

Started from the terminal following errors occured which could be relevant.

"** (nm-applet:3099): WARNING **: _nm_object_get_property: Error getting 'State' for /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/13: (19) Method "Get" with signature "ss" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" doesn't exist"

** (nm-applet:3099): DEBUG: old state indicates that this was not a disconnect 9
** (nm-applet:3099): DEBUG: going for offline with icon: notification-network-wireless-disconnected

(nm-applet:3099): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_composite: assertion `dest_x >= 0 && dest_x + dest_width <= dest->width' failed

With the correct encryption the circel ran but no connection and I was multiple times asked to enter the password. And in the terminal I saw the message.

Had created a "new network" and during the process of connection the nm-applet disappeared again.

Here's the error from the terminal

Segmentation fault (Speicherabzug geschrieben)

(geschrieben = written, Speicherabzug = dump)

(It's also in German with language=C)

After the nm-applet disappeared from the start* I installed Lucid newly and updated (less than an hour ago) and the disappearing vanished.

*When I tried to start nm-applet from the terminal it told me, that nm-applet is already running and it can't open d-bus manager

The problem appeared again.
Just created ad-hoc network, then for a while it stated that I'm connected, then disconnected, connected, disconnected, connected and so on and the nm-applet disappeared again. With no crash report.
